For Immediate Release: the principals of Spero Consulting seek a partner in the manufacture and distribution of children’s toys. The partner firm must have the capacity to design, produce, and distribute a “girl” doll with: (1) a sophisticated voice recognition module and (2) the ability to reply to specific statements or compliments in a particular, logical manner.
Subject to cost considerations, we propose three versions.
Via voice recognition and the doll’s internal “logic,” the base model must respond in the following ways to different types of statements:
- If told, “I love you,” she must respond with “I love you, too.”
- If complimented with statements like, “nice job,” “good report card,” “that sounded nice,” “you are beautiful,” she must reply with “thank you.”
- If it is told anything else, given any type of command, or provided with any type of feedback that is neutral or negative or could be construed as such, like “you need to practice more,” the doll must reply with, “you’re so mean.” The capacity to include “animatronic” features, like the ability to frown for several hours after hearing a non-compliment, would be considered a plus.
Subject to trademark and copyright approval, the proposed name of the base model is “the real American girl doll.”
The second version will preface every reply with, “like,” as in “like thank you,” or “like, you’re so mean,” Subject to the same legal considerations, the name “the real stupid American girl doll” seems apropos.
The third version is a stripped-down model that does not require a sophisticated voice recognition module or internal “logic.” To any statement, it alternates between two replies: “you love her better,” or “you like her better and you always have.” The final name is subject to change, but will include the descriptive phrase, “low blood sugar.”
Ancillary opportunities will include accessories like clothes, cell phones, laptops. Emphasizing the “layered” look will greatly enhance sales. (We propose advertisements and photo layouts showing the dolls wearing four shirts at a time.)
